The Problem
A Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) situated in the North Sea (Norwegian Sector) required support to repair Kaydon Circumferential Barrier Seals (CBS) fitted to a Dresser Rand compressor train.
The company had traditionally repaired Kaydon barrier seals in-house using replacement wear spares but repair quality was inconsistent and expensive parts were sometimes damaged.
The Solution
Several CBS units were sent to NASH, the authorised agent and repair centre for Kaydon Ring and Seal in Western Europe.

The Benefits
By using NASH to repair Kaydon barrier seals, the company ensured that each seal was rebuilt and tested to original specification before being re-fitted to their compressors. This resulted in more consistent seal performance and increased compressor reliability.
