Overview

Dryers are used in practically every plant that makes solid products in the form of powder and granules and are commonly involved in the manufacture of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

There are various designs, including cone, paddle, disc, pan and filter dryers.

Applications often involve products that are liable to be contaminated or degraded by exposure to the atmosphere, or chemicals that should not be released to the environment because they are toxic or hazardous.

To contain such media, specially designed mechanical seal cartridges are employed often featuring:

• A double seal configuration
• Materials resistant to chemical attack
• Wetted parts free of bug traps and able to be cleaned in place
• An independent seal support system
• Control of sealant pressure, temperature and flow
